Brake and fuel lines

 

I finished up the brake and fuel lines now. The fuel line runs across the rear crossmember and goes to a hose that runs through the frame rail. I ran the brake lines along the wishbones with the park brake cable. All that is left on the chassis now is shock mounts

Did you drill and tap to hold the clamps on??

 

The rear crossmember I welded studs on. The bones I TIG welded nuts into. They worked really good for being for grounding rods

 

Yeah I know what they are...........we use them at my day job.

It will be soooooooo cool. One 3 window and one 5!!! Perfect father son combo!!

 

I haven't had a lot of time to work on the car lately but here is some pics of what I have done. I cut the GMC lip off the blower and shaped the gussets to match the other side. My machinist moved a few things around on the alternator set up to clear the fire wall. The body is back on and I now have the car up at my dads shop.

I have had absolutely no time to work on the car lately. I started my own hot rod shop. For those interested in what I have been working on you can find pics at https://www.facebook.com/KellKustomRapidCity

 

Its been a long time since I made any progress on this car. I now have some motivation again. I found some nice Packard headlights with the trim on the top. I did not like the Packard lenses though, so I decided to combine the Ford headlights and the Packard headlights. The Ford trim ring is about 3/16" larger than the Packard bucket, so I cut the front of a Ford bucket off and blended it into the Packard bucket. I had to fab up a patch for the bottom of the Packard bucket to close up the larger mounting hole. I then installed the Ford mounting plate and stud allowing the new headlight to mount to the factory Ford stands that are already chopped. At this point I finally got the car back into the shop. It had plenty of rust on it as its been in cold storage. Stay tuned progress will be steady again.
