Getting closer to looking like a hood. Decided to try to make my own hood top instead of cutting one up and having 45 feet of weld F72FC6FD-438D-4C7B-A594-6663B8233D9F.jpeg 78975BF5-5492-45F0-8912-3FA0ED30D981.jpeg F0DF392B-9A48-40BC-B38D-A76DABE9055D.jpeg E56B4CD2-B3FE-40AC-83D2-ED089B8A906E.jpeg .

Got driveline angles set. Spring hangers tacked, started figuring where the rear suspension will live. Shop cat now practicing poses for the upcoming pinup up shoot for Puss n Buggy magazine. That last side shot is awesome. Looks mean. Your cat will be a natural for Puss and Buggy magazine.

Ladder bars tacked in. Moved on to the spring. It’s a Speedway medium arch stretched to fit what they swear works at 45” perch centers. 34 degrees on the shackles with only the main leaf and the weight of the car on it. Yes there full be more weight but mostly on the other end as RS will me on the engine. Trans is resting on the crossmember to weight it 5BADDEC6-2304-4830-9343-71FAC611A2E6.jpeg 233E840D-895D-49A6-8EDD-0606C9755197.jpeg 3319A238-49FE-4C97-9336-5B9F699B717E.jpeg 8EB25F4A-4271-470C-9920-AF8D337D2419.jpeg

Cut everything out and relocated the perches. 42 1/2” centers with a spacer to shim as needed. Shackles hang pretty close to 45 with full weight and me standing on it. Made up some lower shock mounts and will tackle the uppers tomorrow. Build the frame down to the T crossmember then box the rear and on to the rest of the x member or K member whatever I can make work. Back to finishing all of the body parts that are only roughed out once the chassis is sorted enough to send the wheels and suspension out to powder coat 4238DB0A-CD3D-4CEB-8E71-84C3DBC20C23.jpeg EF052E27-7CE3-4690-9A29-6513158D6D8A.jpeg 1884A73D-7F91-4C28-AE79-1D1F8128A7E9.jpeg 683096FC-6DE5-4CCD-B931-643B9F909420.jpeg 521A7D56-C47A-407B-9387-F5E7EB42ACE4.jpeg F05ED2A7-F935-4BFB-B8E5-BB5D747E4274.jpeg

Seems like an eternity ago this was a concept in the corner. Engine is off to the builder, parts are out to powder coat, and now back at tying up the loose ends left everywhere. My goal is to have the body ready for bodywork end of the week. Then finish weld the chassis and get it ready. Here it is from the end of October until right before I blew it all apart again 952FCA12-35B5-4C70-B6B0-D98E967FE8CF.jpeg 435F65EF-58FD-42EC-BCE9-5630578DD423.jpeg F60C3632-8E24-49BF-ACD0-67567D90DEE7.jpeg F7C1F10B-4F04-4FE0-A919-B3A9BA5B0F38.jpeg

I guess I haven’t posted an update for a while. Going to try to have it rolling and in one coat of primer by next Thursday. 7BABE812-4779-49A3-BEE9-A9D5269F040E.jpeg 577BFFB2-5C60-49E0-BD43-36D96FD853E7.jpeg 70C3F579-6CDB-4B27-A26F-28E1765D78C9.jpeg EA80F89E-2E09-4A30-9CAF-131FDC53D068.jpeg 870B4EBF-2797-4AD4-976D-0147AC99144E.jpeg AFA69D91-D01A-4648-8950-6724AAFECF65.jpeg 88F9A34E-9B7A-4CC7-8D46-1ADE861A1217.jpeg 11861489-B69A-4E98-8FD1-94C2DEED7AC6.jpeg 361D2A0F-78A6-4100-9BD1-7B612F1B6C0D.jpeg 64634129-E1ED-411E-B0CB-48414E7BAF20.jpeg

While I struggle just to get this car done, my son is already trying to figure out how to pack it for the trip to Bonneville. 1249CA92-55C0-4617-A74D-F948E2CB8F7D.jpeg EF547EB3-5F2B-4E23-ABCD-A60B935C6B09.jpeg

I dont belive a stock body would need less mud to make a good paintjob.
    I really like this build.

Look what you did. You took several sheets of flat metal and pounded it into a model T. A little bondo is nothing to be ashamed of. Id be dancing naked in the street if I could do that.

Behind schedule like any good project, but finally making some headway again. First round of primer and it doesn’t look too bad overall. Little bit of detail work to worry about, but it will never be a great eight car or any show winner for that matter Quick Performance donated the rear end parts we needed and got them picked up today E3965890-98F5-467E-BD67-BE553788785D.jpeg 05876298-6326-42EB-B70F-2298250C4F01.jpeg 9A55EDE0-88A4-44DE-9F6C-B7FAB74E0712.jpeg B353D914-732A-4869-9AFA-34DADC4BA395.jpeg F4CE4817-4E54-437C-BD19-7AA1A9BEBDDF.jpeg 907EF919-E7CF-4BFC-BBE1-665D04DC10D1.jpeg

I started the exhaust this weekend too. Need to set the body back on the frame to finish the tailpipes and need to get the engine back to do the front pipes, but it’s a start. 19CC8C81-1F86-45AC-892A-360EBCECD965.jpeg 7CD1F4C4-BC5E-44F0-97E4-4DA754BA8640.jpeg
