I like this thread..Its great to see what a guy is willing to save. lots of inspiration here! I want to contribute some pics of my 40 convert. The body was completely cut apart and on a pallet when I got it. The floor is a donor from a Coupe but the rest of the pcs are from the same car...I think..

 

So, I'm driving my company truck on my route one day and had several hours to dream....dreamed I wanted a 33-34 ford coupe. I found this home made woody wagon on a 33 chassis.....swapped a 53 stude coupe for it and then I found this old stock car body...bought it and now I have this...

 

Just looking,
but you have [2] '32-'34 truck cowl tops,
your tulip panel has had the bead and horizontal cut off...
looks like you could splice the 2 cowls together and make the bead that is where the rear window turns into the panel above the trunk... let us know if that will work?

Sawzall- did you start with a woodie basket case or a sedan chassis or what ???

 

Rocky, that rear 3/4 shot looks "pissed off", and I mean it in the nicest way possible. Bitchin...

there are 3... '37-'39 convertible / woodie...
1940 convertible / woodie ...
1940 closed cars...

 

I dont have wiper towers,... I'm in need of a few parts, Wood pcs for the top & a back seat.

 

i have a couple but don't remember which... i'll post pix...
'40 closed car are wider...
check out the gaskets for shape...

I had the '28 buick 5 passenger coupe rear clip... buddy dropped of the sedan roof quarter,
shorten the top to fit the buick and but it up to any closed car '30-'31 cowl and doors...

 

This is a cool thread. Reminds me of when I was maybe 13 on my Grandma's farm, there was a rusty double A Ford truck sitting there. I would sit in it and think about how I would fix it up until the wasp chased me out.

 

I I wonder how many guys passed on these quarters ?
I can still dream about patches...

model a car, started a roadster body pile to sit on it...

 

big dreams (beating 351 swapped foxbodies)... I need a lot more cash.. and probably a daily driver first before I worry about this thing.

I need to
mount the engine and trans
rebuild the engine
remount the rearend
find out what's wrong with the steering
probably box the frame
put a cage in it
floors, cabmounts bed all need some help or replacement
brakes might be important too.

 

I scrimped saved stored and dragged this pile of junk from place to place for years actually spent a fair chunk of change on them too... I kept the dream alive until I broke my back and had a baby then I woke up....I guess the dream might have been something I was smoking cuz it turns out I can't give this stuff away ....now it's sitting in storage $30. a month

 

That WAS a deuce roadster at one point...and this was a coupe

 

The parts gremlins dropped this and 2 early GM frames... any idea what it was?

 

the old guy let me back in... bought a pair of guide 903 j's. and a '30 cowl with the posts cut off...
walk a mile in HIS shoes...

 

Why are here so many roadster post with the tops cut off?
