I was suffering from insomnia last night,so naturally I turn on the TV and start flipping channels and watch a old Twilight Zone,Third from the sun and saw a really cool chopped custom car that I though was a Mercury so I garbed my laptop trying to find out something about the car. Turns out it is a 52 Buick built by Barris Kustoms and was owned by Lyle Lake from Orlando,Florida. The car was called the Blue Danube because of the various shades of blue used on the car. The main body color of the car was pearlescent blue, the top was sky-blue metallic, while the bottom section was painted in an ocean blue mist. The Blue Danube was striped in white and copper by Dean Jeffries. This is a actual scene from the show. Noted Custom Car collector,Jack Walker talked with Lyle and found for some unknown reason the car was crushed and in 1998 Jack decided to recreate the car.HRP
Sweet ride. That's one of my favorite episodes. I loved the futuristic sound that car made, or it sure seemed futuristic to my young mind.
If they really wanted a car that looked like it came from another planet they should have called Roth lol.
great show - well, I guess there are some Cool "Martians" out there building custom rides - nothing to fear
Saw another one,The Lonely, where criminals were sent to asteroids for their sentence, the man in question, Jack Warden had re-assembled a 1932 Ford 4 door touring. HRP
Lots of shows with cool old cars that passed us by over the years. Thanks for those car connections. Has a new twist now that we're a little older...er well a lot older . Hey HRP your thread title reminded me of a tune...Five man Electrical Band/I'm a Stranger here...It has that line in it. Hope your feeling better day by day.
The kids and I just watched both of those episodes in the past month. We started with episode one and are watching them in order on netflix. I have only seen a handful of episodes before now. Didn't know it would turn into car-spotting. Just watched an episode that featured what I'm guessing was a '59 4-door hardtop Mercury.
