    What does "Bender" mean?

    I figure its off a straight six (could be 8, but not V-8) and probbaly from the early 50s, but I can't identify it specifically.

    I've seen that one in post one on something but can't remember what. I'm thinking truck or industrial though. From looking at several photos the common Buick straight 8 oil bath filter looks like this one. 1950-1951-1952-1952-buick-oil-bath-air-cleaner.jpeg

    Hudson was like the Buick pictured above. They were longer and sat cross ways over the top of the engine. The one I'm trying to identify is most similar in construction to the GM, but shorter, with oil bath hanging down next to the manifold instead of on the other side of the engine.

    Still a mystery to me...
