  2. Yeah, I have a fiberglass T bucket i’m going to build on a model A frame in a late 50’s style and a scrap metal model A project that i’m collecting parts for. It would be cool if one of them met the necessary requirements to grace this thread. Just need to finish an off-topic truck project and finish the teardrop trailer i started in March. Hot rods are getting close to the top of my to-do list!

That last one you posted is very interesting!

This may have inspired the more recent swoopy frames that have been around for several years now with mixed opinion...it is what it is...

This car/ truck was built in Troy ,Ohio on a Nissan truck frame powered by a 390 with trans from a 66 T-Bird. Fenders are glass & the rest was all metal work. I bought this & later met the 80+ year old that did it in his 70's. I sold it do to health reasons.

That's where Fangio got his start, right? Gary

Not a race scholar by any means but I looked him up and he was an Argentinian Racer...The colorful racers you posted with the question are Brazilian...

After a bit more reading he did do that kind of racing all over South America including Brazil you are correct...;)

Those are pretty cool cars that @GraeffSS posted. I did post some Argentinian racers several pages back with a video link to some of that style of racing.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Manuel_Fangio

@gnichols on page 47 of this thread halfway down there is a post on the Argentinian racers including Fangio...

This looks reminiscent of an offshore Ford with some modern additions. Sort of Cabriolet Roadster Pickupish...Sorry you had to sell your ride and hope your good health has returned...

Sorry I misspoke... But the cars they raced were so similar! Wikipedia has a nice article on his early racing years, lots of time and championships in old Chevy coupes. Gary

I have. As you probably know, those cars are still popular with the "only the rich can afford it" long distance rallys being done these days. Gary

I don't think you did at all...the Wikipedia link I pasted on my reply to you referenced his racing stretching all over South America including Brazil...and yes It would be a blast to buzz up the course in those Jalopy Racers for sure albiet there was definitely a element of danger always much like all racing.

Did you check out @GraeffSS's thread...he took those pics and he and his father are working on a Hotrod down there in Brazil...

I posted this in the Friday Art show due to the humorous nose-art on cardboard and while studying it I noticed the front suspension looked independent and being a T it would have normally been a beam transverse sprung front end. This was identified as a Blair Speed Shop entry with Dyno Don Nicholson involved in its construction.

I would suspect it would have been rare to see this on a Hotrod racer of this type much like Ak's Hotrod above...
but the pictures elude a pretty innovative entry.

    Perhaps @loudbang and @296ardun
or anyone else who has knowledge of this particular racer
may be able to shed some light on what is under that cardboard...

Love to help BUT. I know I did a part history on Dyno Don and the cars he was involved with BUT I searched my threads and nothing shows and I can't remember which of the thousands of posts I submitted it in. I will think about it and maybe it will pop into my head later. I'm pretty sure there was more of the cardboard using car.

Could be Joe...pic linked to no where...it may have even been posted in this thread before. I will search our site a bit thanks...and after quite a bit of searching...no hits. Looking at it further it looks widened in addition to the heavily stylized front.

I'm trying to find it too. I think it might have been a thread where someone found it in a garage/barn and were asking about it.
