I bought a mac at an estate sale. Also a 3/8 drive air impact. Both $1.00, not each.
The kid said they didn't work and sounded like the dickens.
    OIL/710.
I let them soak in some hot 30wt I pulled out of the car when I did the oil change after my triumphant return.
Next day, I put them in a rag and let em fly. I use them often, after oiling and they've been in service for 11 years.

I know the HF grinder I bought is not filled with moist air, it was BRAND NEW. And my compressor isn't old enough to have a lot of moisture in it either, it was hooked up brand new a couple weeks ago, and has a moisture trap and a down pipe inline before the coupler for my hose.

So far there's been lots of good suggestions, some of which are well under a $100. After you all are tired of this thread I'll make a list and go shopping. I don't really have any access to old grinders (I've been watching swap meets for years, and don't hit any garage sales), but the interweb is a great place to find stuff.

    Keep any good suggestions coming!

The one that has coffee beans in it which would be the Cascade #4 grinder at the moment. Gets the day started right

If money isnt an object new dynabrade
If money is an object used dynabrade imo

Shop for new and used on eBay and at least in terms of new you might be imprest by the quality and amount of different configurations.. dynabrade also makes a dynaswivel for the end of your air hose that comes in handy it allows the hose to move at almost any angle to the tool to unrestrict movement or increase clearance..buy one for the end of your hose rather than one for every tool, meaning pute the swivel directly on the hose then your quick connect on the end of the swivel..

I like the sausage grinder they sell. One of the best I've had, and lasts most of the afternoon. grinders.jpg

Ingersoll rand makes some decent ones imo, though a used old one is probably cheaper and better made.

I bought one of these Dynabrades at a garage sale in like new condition for $35

That was a long time ago and it's like the day I got it. Past that, hit craigslist, resale/consignment shops, pawn shops, etc. Dotco. Dotco.
I have a 1 HP Dotco straight die grinder and another 90 Deg 5". Pawn shop, $50 ea, industrial grade. I've used the shit out of em for a dozen or more years. Oil my stuff with ProCharger oil. It was free...

When I moved to Dallas in 1969, went to a strip joint downtown and Lulu Roman was dancing that night. Arrrrrr, I was blind for a long time

I've got a Campbell Hausfeld I bought at Walmart sometime back in the early 90's. Bought a newer import a few years ago because I thought the CH was about to quit, I seldom use it, prefer the old CH that just keeps on ticking. Shoot some WD40 in it then put it to work.

I just used my neglected and abused Central Pneumatic angle grinder again tonight. Still works great after enough years that I can't even remember when I bought it. I should give it a few drops of oil next time I use it.

I've got a Mac and Blue point 90° that have both had daily use for 20 years with no problems.
I recently bought a Milwaukee polisher that has a rolock arbor and 6ah battery that's great when I don't want to pull a hose, but it's bulky compared to the air versions.
