  3. That's a cool find. I also like the old tin Hot Rod toys. They made a lot of different ones. Here's a few of mine. But lets see some more!:) Ron.... 500.jpg

image.jpeg This street roadster looks like it was run at Bonneville, then taken home and put into hibernation.

when I was still working I had the boys in the tool room saw out a half dozen plexiglass windshields for the T roadster while they were building a plexi house for a gun drill job... gave them to guys with that toy... should have had 'em make me a couple dozen...

got 3 Marx Hot Rods. the red one and the yellow one had a flint inside like a lighter and the red plastic motor sparkled when you pushed it down the floor. the blue one never had that feature..
the ones below that are about 3" long.

I had to beg a bit for this one a few years ago but my son came through. The scallop decals got pealed off right away and I still get it out and run it once in a while. 003.jpg

  23. This was my first HOT ROD. I got it for Christmas back in the 60's.{ The black one that is.} 649.jpg 651.jpg I painted it probably a haft a dozen times. Played with, and changed the motor too. I found the red one at a swap meet years ago. That's what it would have looked like under the Christmas tree. It's made by the MARX toy company. It was my Best Christmas EVER! :) Ron.....

I think giving toy hot rods to little kids will keep the tradition going. Great thread @CadMad

Wow some really cool looking old toy's.
Wish I had saved more of my old toy's because they sure bring back some wonderful memories.

My 5 year old found this at Pomona swap for 2 bucks. He talked the guy down to 50 cents.
Not sure how old, but I like it.[IMG]

Does that RPU have a spark generator in the clear red engine block?
