The station was located in the 2200 block of Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu (Waikiki). Yes, that's the 1924 olympics gold medalist in swimming, and surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku ...

These photos are perhaps 14 years old. We had taken a dirt road off of I17 freeway in AZ headed to Bumble Bee and Cleator. This stuff was at an intersection of two dirt roads. We were asked to leave by some guy living in a mobile home next to a dirt runway and a wind sock. Hum. I have always wondered if those pumps and lube tanks are still there. Had a friend that worked at "Hat&Boots" back in the early 60's. Spent more than a few showers hanging out there. After the station was closed many years ago the hat and boots buildings were removed / moved from the property and saved for future restoration. I really don't know where they are today, or even if they still exist !

Here in Florida we still have many gas stations that look just like they did back in the mid 50's and one of them is located in Crystal Beach which is only a few miles from my home.
I love to drive by and see the outside lifts with newer cars on them being serviced.

Even hearing the old bell sound when you drive over the hose pulling in is cool.
