Here's a bigger version of my avatar photo and a couple others; it has a Rootlieb body kit on a '29 chassis. The engine is stock except for the dual Zenith model B carbs. DSC_0006.JPG IMG_0328.JPG IMG_0381.JPG

These are so cool ! But the big war for me will always be VietNam . I’m not of the generation to relate to “ The Big War “ as WW2 or no way WW1 and last but not lease but forgotten Korea . Thanks to all who served to protect this great country we live in , to those they were all big wars . Thanks again and God bless you

  7. I guess this one counts too? I was working pretty steadily on it until a couple of other projects appeared. 2ADEC2EC-72DA-4F20-AFAF-AE5730C73495.jpeg

Right you are, it's the Charles W. Morgan in the background. This was taken during the annual By Land and By Sea antique vehicle show.

Just started putting the pieces together for a 1929 Roadster Pickup. If anyone has any spare body parts to help in this endeavor please let me know. Mercuryguy

    Can't see that photo, unfortunately!

  14. My old 33 pu had 2 things not pre-war. The dash was 1949 and the transmission was a T-5. Had a 40 ford motor and a 42 ford pickup rear axle rocky33insnow2%5B1%5D.jpg

  15. Actually other then peddles at this point the car would have been a cutting edge car pre-war. We didn't get officially involved until '42. His gauge panel was actually machined in December '98 but it was turned out by hand (no CNC) and anyone prewar with a machine shop and a decent hand could have done it.

Here is something to think about when it comes to prewar. This car is a Westergard custom. Started as a '39 Merc and the build was stared in '39 finished by '40. Not all prewar cars were crude.

I'm trying to. '28 roadster on '32 rails. I am using a repop Edlebrock Slingshot, but originals were made pre-war so I'm OK with it.

It gets to be a sickness. Idea is a "high tech" dry lakes car built around '42. I want to use tube shocks since they would be considered "high tech" at the time. Was going to use F-1 mounts, but they are '48-'53, so I found Mopar forged shock mounts since they started using them in '37.

Maybe a few out of 100 guys would even know the difference, but I'm trying hard to stick to plan.
