    We drove down to Austin from Amarillo so my son could pick up his engine from Ross Racing's Tony Lombardi for the 31 Model A coupe he's building. Since we we're all going to be at the Roundup Tony brought the engine with him to save my son having to have it shipped. Super nice of Tony to do that for my son. Hi I'am the son. Tony called me last Saturday and said it was finished and on the dyno it put out 357hp /405ft/lbs torque. I will post video of dyno run tomorrow that I got from Tony. I would do it tonight but my brother has to show me how.

    My son John had these headers built by Matt at Gear Drive Speed & Custom so we bolted them on just to stand back and get a look. Perfect. IMG_2437.JPG IMG_2438.JPG IMG_2439.JPG

    Awesome!I bet it runs as good as it looks!I think the headers need some sort of protective coating to prevent rust.

    My son John has a rebuilt M22 out of a 69 Z-28, Tony had already sent him an adapter for a standard transmission but he hasn't decided on the M-22 or a 5 speed just yet.

    Once John get's the sound he wants out of the headers with the baffles and end caps from Gear Drive & Speed he is going to have the headers chrome plated.

  16. 357 hp! Yikes! The 55 olds I bought from my parents only put out 202 HP and I thought I was mister street racer back in 1965-66. Nice.

    Chrome heads, you gotta be kidding me. Those are just fuckin beautiful. Look at 2 thousand engines in custom cars and hot rods, and you may, if lucky, see one with chrome heads. You suck!! that is just amazing.

    First off thanks for the compliments it means a lot. The heads aren't chromed, they are Tony's aluminum heads that I had him polish along with intake and valley pan. I like how they look like original castings with the correct mounts. That was a concern of mine, because I'am mounting A real generator on it. The aluminum end plates are off being polished, and its going to be just as cool as the motor

  23. Just beautiful work right there. Love to see these Olds engines being saved. What distributor are you running and are you using it as a trigger for a MSD?

    Oh my....... :cool::cool:

    I would love to have had one of Tony's Rockets in my '32........especially after encountering Tony and the rest of the 'Hilton A Coupe' crew at Lone Star 2 years ago........but circumstances and logistics dictate having to retain the SBC.
