History '54 Ford Gasser "Old School"

    There was no motor with the car when we picked it up and the guy didn't know much either just that it was street raced around Columbus!

    Actually I was asking about the engine in the car from the Adam 12 video. :eek:
    That said, I really like the fact that you're using a 385 series motor, I've had a few and they make great power without lots of work. What transmission will you be using? Looking forward to more updates.

    c-6 with a 3500 stall conv. the engine is a stroked 460 to 557 with 10.4 comp. edelbrock perf. rpm heads, victor int. 950cfm carb, solid roller cam 254/258 at 50 thou 660 lift, and 9" rear.

    I'd say that combination will move the car rather nicely. What gear are you planning to use in the 9 inch?

    3.50 to 4.11 not sure yet until I pick tire size. Car should run in the 10s, I hope

    Thats what I was thinking, low 11s to mid 10s. I bet that will be one fun ride! Looking forward to your progress and if you need any Photoshop work to sort out ideas just let me know. If I remember correctly I have a similar car in my Photoshop album.

    Advance 1 is better now and has gotten back into the '54.
    Installing the new brakes on the car plus he's into his new shop so hopefully it will be ready for the new season of racing.

    i agree!!! i am in the process of getting everything together to build a replica of my first car. it was a '53 ford business coupe gasser back in the '60s.

    Medical issues are still stopping me, but I still have it n hope to finish one day.

    I know full well how that is,been down the same road.Hope things get better for you soon but give the guys an update to your thread I'm sure they would be glad to give you some support.
