With the pans on either end and the Cadillac tail lights that one reminds me of the AMT 1949 Mercury kit.

Interesting trim treatment on it. I like it!

 

58th Annual Draggins Rod & Custom Show this past Easter weekend brought out only a few H.A.M.B. type customs, but the few that were there were cool..

Caught this nice Merc before it was "opened up" for display:

Now there's something you don't see everyday. And they pulled it off pretty damn well, too. Add this to the small but growing list of 4 doors that got chopped and actually were an improvement. These Kaisers are pretty cars to begin with, I'm surprised more customs aren't built from them, instead of just bumper overriders and '51 grille bars.
