Recently finished up Build #2 which I called the Phoenix due to its history of fire and rust. Quick pic of that and then I will slowly start pecking away at the Roadster build. Here’s what I have for the start of my Roadster project. Started life as a Coupester but was already hacked into prior to my acquisition of it. Got a Roadster cowl from Ty on here. Started by disassembly of the Roadster cowl. Pretty rusted out. I recently drove to Colorado and while there grabbed some coupe parts that had been buried upside down leaving patch panels. They will be a perfect fit as seen in the last pic. And off we go. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The plan for this one is short and sweet. 32 rails 36 radius rods or some combination of them with custom modifications 42-48 split bones up front with a suicide front. 16” wires Engine will likely be a 327. Going for something like this gold Roadster. I love this thing. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Had a little time to start pecking away. Got the cowl patch panels all welded up and planished and wheeled. Very smooth transition. Then I decided to media blast the entire cowl sections. After that it was on to the roadster cowl cap or whatever it’s called. Bottom line is it was roached and needed some revitalizing. Here’s what I did. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Started to repair the trickier pieces. Shot bag and then planishing hammer made quick work of it. What’s not shown is I reassembled the entire cowl sides, “frame”, and firewall. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
