Nice photo shoot in front of the Empress, in Victoria, B.C. When we were visiting there several years ago, that place was impressive. We walked all around the grounds and took a tourist stroll inside to get the ambience of a 5 star hotel. We stayed just around the corner in another place. But, walking around this whole harbor area was so much fun. It reminded us of the waterfront in San Francisco and at the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

There was so much activity on those steps and sidewalk surrounding the whole harbor. Crafts, paintings, food, jewelry, interesting people, it was alive compared to the inside of the Empress Hotel. It was quite a contrast. The photo above shows the sidewalk empty, but when we were there in the day it was packed. When we went back there after dinner, it was still packed with those characters and goods.

Thanks for bringing back the memories with your great photos in front of the Empress Hotel.

Driving around that peninsula and the ferry ride back to the continent was also impressive. It is a great part of the USA and Canada to see and experience.

Nice shot Chevbucket...shooting in front of hotels is cool, here's a shot or two of our Cadillacs (my '55 and my brother's '54) waaa-aaa-yy in front of the The Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton Lakes National Park and Canyon in Alberta, Canada after a trip across Canada via Trans Canada Highway One. Waterton N.P. is a gorgeous area, of course, but a trip across western Canada, in an old car, thru the Canadian Rockies is a treat...!!!
