Shane, This car has been kicking my but I thought it would have been done along time ago. You and your son should stop over call me 242-4388
I was reading the older post on how your father was wanting a coupe like the Beach Boys "Chili's 32". I can see a bit of that car style in the Dodge, and it's good to know you saved the original look. A small story board displayed with the car, mentioning all that, would help people "get it".
Thanks that's a great idea. I'm never letting this one out of our family again. Just wish I could figure out the lifter noise.
I just can't remember who it was on here, but they did a thread on their Hemi lifter or rocker noise. Over a year ago, maybe 2, and I just can't remember what was figured out. Sorry for no help.
I tried the search engine for hemi lifter noise and tried every suggestion.I think it's time to look closer at the heads.
You car is way cool. As for the lifter noise threads... I use a meta-search engine called Dogpile. Been using it for years. It searches "search engines" like Google and others for you. Anyway.. the advanced search allows you (just like Google) to search through a particular website instead of the whole bloody interweb. I often use this when the HAMB search utility doesn't cut it for me. Soooo I: 1. went to www.dogpile.com 2. clicked on Advanced Search (below the word Fetch) 3. typed the words: hemi lifter noise into the All of these words section 4. typed http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/ into the box for Include Domain 5. clicked the Go Fetch button It returned this: http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl.t...e&qdomain=http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/ If you click on that link you will find a bunch of results. Maybe it will return a thread that you didn't see. It's still a lot of digging but I hope it helps. You can also click Exclude Domain in that search if you don't want result from a specific site. Love the car and the story... Joe
I am bringing this back to the top to post @hallrods father's Hotrod back in the day when he (Hallrod) was a wee lad. These pics were posted in PDF and may not have been seen by many Hambers...So First off great job on bringing it back as was said by many and here is the series of photos... Walking by his future BIG Toy... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1931-dodge.673974/#post-7488747
Thanks to you for sharing them...Cool Hotrod Hall...I don't think I remember myself opening that up to have a look. So I really enjoyed having a peek at them. I photoshopped out the tape marks on the front view and a question for you...That is you as a wee tyke in the one pic correct?
Thanks Stogy we put a lot of miles on the car since then. Two years ago my Father and I went to our first Traditional car show (Cheaterama) it rained so hard on the way there we almost ended up in the ditch with them slicks. I need to get tires for going on long trips.
Dad is still around...priceless. The fact your still running the vintage tires really is the icing on the cake but yeah slicks are for fair weather only. Perhaps there is a grooved similar tire available...Or can they groove a tire like yours to make it rain capable?
I’m looking I would like another set of rims and tires I could switch out for long runs or possibly bad weather. I can’t find a 2 inch white wall in a tall enough tire for a 8 inch rim. I’ll have to go to a 7 inch rim with a custom offset
