  4. Insert my comment to before this thread took a left turn and became a photo gallery*:
There must be a whole season up there in Ontario called "Long Shadows" and lots of opportunities for videos like that. Here in Texas, right after sunrise, we have to lift a car and look under it to find a shadow.

*There's a lot of nice looking cars out there. ;)

Shift Wizard the thread is wide open to video as well...Never to late to comment. Your right Sunrise and Sunset...these are the moments for the Long shadows so to speak. It actually has to be the perfect set of variables to get shadows that are worthy. Its just another dimension of the Vehicles we hold dear to the Heart.

The time frame is it fact short lived here as well. I had near an hour drive to work with the Ole Hotrod and with the sun rising one thing I observed was the ever changing shadows painting themselves onto the road and more moving as the directions change. Being close to country settings gives an interesting canvas for the meandering shadows...but they happen everywhere and not just driving.

Thanks for enjoying this and hopefully you'll find some opportunities.

Wire wheels and exposed mechanicals such as engine and suspension provide very detailed shadows.

@Moriarity your collection of wild customs provide a unending array of unusual shapes to generate interesting outcomes. Great stuff.

One of my majors in college was art and one assignment was charcoal drawings of shadows, not the object casting them.

My best piece was a ten speed on campus casting a spoked
wheel shadow over a water drain. That pic of Moriartys car reminds me of that project. Very cool

That sounds like a major project and challenge...spoke shadows over a lumpy surface sorta like refined gravel. The shadows are constantly changing and always varied in intensity...I had the Ole Hotrod down a tree-lined country road the other day and for about a mile it was a filtered shade with spots of light poking through it. It was quite a surreal moment...fantastic drive it was.
