I am ready to paint and assemble my 27 project. The body is a period correct blue , I would like to paint the frame black , since I will not be running a hood. Is contrasting body frame color something that has been done. My trim and windshield frame and posts are black , as well as, my wheels, Let me know your thoughts, Thanks

Looks more old time than a matching frame does. Right, go for it!

Rear & front axle/suspension color? Black? Then the frame color is easy.
