I did a search and don't see where this has been posted in the past,it's cool to here all the cars running. HRP
Brings back a lot of old memories. I liked the channeled but unchopped T coupe (#66). Mostly British plates so I'm guessing it was in England.
You are correct,Santa Pod Raceway, located in Podington, Bedfordshire, England, is Europe's first permanent drag racing venue for 1/4 and 1/8 mile racing. It was built on a disused Second World War air base, (RAF Podington), once used by the 92nd Bomber Group. HRP
I hear (or read) the name "Santa Pod" and immediately flash back to the career ending accident of top fuel driver Darrell Gwynn in 1990.
I watch part of this video yesterday and the rest today, the video is well worth the time. Thanks Danny.
Hey Danny------Thanks for posting the video!!!! It was an hour of interesting watching, I even found my self picking winners---LEFT LANE--LEFT LANE. Very nice camera work, don't know what the guy used, but it sure was'nt a cell phone video. Thanks Bill
That's a great video, very well done and thanks to the producer for not ruining it with a musical sound track other than those engines! I've been to two TROGS and seen numerous Pendine Sands videos and this appears to be better than both! Thanks for posting it Danny.
Just watched about 20 minutes with my 5 yr old son. He wanted tv since he’s not feeling well but watched contently and we got to talk about which we liked & why. Thanks for posting HRP! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I had the honor of knowing a B-17 pilot that was in the 92nd Bomb Group, and flew I think he said like 32 missions out of Podington. Some great stories-I had great respect for the man.
Thanks Danny ! There went an hour of my life that is gone forever ! Gotta hand it to the Limeys for gathering all the parts that are hard to find on this side of the pond. Awesome !
Glad you like the film, folks. For our first full on drag meet it was a great success. If anyone is in the UK over the weekend of May 5th & 6th, we’ll be doing it all over again. www.vhra.co.uk/VHRA/Vintage_Nationals.html
I watched the video again today and realized I was watching Dean Lowe's old roadster pickup still doing what it did back in the early 60's. I believe it's owned by Steve Hill of Brighton, England. HRP
For those of you that can't make it along, I know we're a long way away, there will be a live feed running on Sunday: www.eurodragstereventcoverage.com/live/webcam/2018/default.asp
