Not too bad, I just use a squeeze bottle, and it's not done that often. I build most of my cars this way.

5 years, all that amazing work and you put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

It's where the factory put it, and as you can see, I don't like to modify my cars much!

Got the fuel delivery system done, not really H.F. but it's part of the car so here it is. 20180204_130425.jpg

If it runs as good as it looks you're gonna be kicking some major ass!

Thanks mate, won't be as fast as last time, but more fun with the 4-speed. New blown engine will make an extra 150-200hp over the original, but that won't happen for a bit.

Thanks, I'm hoping to have it done in the next couple of months. Working on it daily now.

Radiator is in, exhaust has been blasted and painted. Just need to fit the exhaust and the rear floor so I can mount the fuel tank. With four days off over easter, I should be able to get a noise out of it. 20180321_202046.jpg

Haven't been on here much, but 39 is progressing well for those interested. I fitted the rear bed frame, polished and mounted the fuel tank. Fired up the motor expecting all sorts of dramas with this combination, but it fired up on the first try, had a small leak in a fuel pump and the radiator drain tap and that was it. Backed out of the shed under it's own power for the first time in six and a half years. 20180403_201039.jpg 20180408_154255.jpg

My trimmer did the new seats to match the original stuff he did nearly 20 years ago. Very happy with the result.

So the car is basically finished, need to repaint and polish the wheels, and I'm still waiting on the fibreglass bonnet from my painter. Got the little "bikini" bonnet done, so at least it looks complete. Drives nice, with good engine manners, which surprised me a little considering the engine is all wrong. Very happy with the result. 20180831_162955.jpg 20180831_163052#1.jpg 20180831_163143#1.jpg 20180916_160916.jpg

Wow, your car looks great! I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10 you hit 11. Its cool to see one of my Photoshop projects brought to life. How soon can we see video of it running the 1/4?

This truck is so amazing! I lost track of this build after following it for a long time. Always loved the '39 Chevs, and a pickup on the car front clip, and main cab is way better than the pickups Chevy sold here in the US in 1939!
In 2019 I found a '39 Chev coupe that was a rust bucket, and spent two years building it into the '39 gasser I wanted! The car in my avatar is the end product.

I'm still alive, just been building other things. I've nearly finished a HAMB related car, but I do not own it, so it isn't my place to put photos up.

I have changed the wheels, and built a one piece bonnet and scoop.

Looks great! But I don’t mean to alarm you, I think you put the steering wheel on the wrong side. Might go for the pedals too.

  30. Looks awesome! Is that white ceramic coating on your headers? Or paint? Or something else?
    Thanks.
