  5. Interesting treatment on that Boattail Riv. Is that actually "sculpted" or is it painted on?

When I was a kid I would go with my dad to the local wrecking yard there was a 46 7 8 Plymouth sedan that sat down in the yard for ever I wanted it so bad ,first time I saw it I was around 12 or 13 , but the owner of the yard would not sell the complete car ,because it had been processed ...that's what he said, only parts...it was lowered a little it had a flat six with a aluminum head ,didn't run, kind of a blue color with small flames on the lower behind the wheel well opening of the front fenders that where kind of purple...wasted stock interior....the car sat there for probably another five years or so then they smashed a lot of the cars for scrap and it was one of them..... I like this one...[IMG]

Ya know, I look at Kustoms like this and wonder WHY the builder didn't follow thru...!!! I mean they went to the trouble to add a very nice beauty line from the front wheel well to mid-door, similar to Buick side trim...and then I look at the fender skirt and its pointed forward, negating the flow. WHY didn't the builder sculpt the skirt to mimic the beauty line...??? Heaven knows there's plenty of room under that skirt (small wheel well) for it to flow like that beauty line...don't understand that thinking...

Yep, that front edge of the skirt stops the flow dead!

Unusual color combo, but it totally works on this car.

  20. The Nostalgia Sleeper was for sale on the HAMB in that condition quite a few years ago, for a real reasonable price I thought. But, I already had a Merc by that point and a second one was out of the question. LOL The guy that bought it back then posted about it a few times with plans to restore it, but I haven't heard or seen anything since.

Some one told me or I read it some where on the HAMB it was restorable. It was one of the first Mercurys that I saw in a magazine. I always thought it was kool. So many things today I don't like about it but if it was mine and I could afford it, I would have to restore it they way it was.
