This radically chopped deuce coupe with a Willys hood for a nose ran a backwards flathead, intake and exhaust swapped, that's why the headers are pointing up from through the hood.

Does not matter what side the car he/she was steering from the person is about to become part of the dashboard.

  5. Actually Dave, the blown Ardun Alex ran in the So Cal coupe belonged to Tom Cobbs.

  8. FYI Dave, he didn't own the V8-60 in the So Cal tank either. That was Bobby Meeks' engine.

Hooley in the "Okie Twister". I painted this car many years ago. Same orange as the Studebaker we ran at Bonneville. There was water on one side of the tire track just ahead of the water box. The car came out of the water box and turned sharply to the right. As bad as this looks, no one was hurt, and there was very minor damage to the car. One of the brackets broke on the fuel tank and there is a small dent at the bottom of the right rear quarter that has never been fixed. A lucky day for everyone. Hooley still races this car.

    I concur!
If they aren't in motion they should at least have a girl in the shot.

This one is a little new for this thread--the photo--not the car.

Hank Clark drove the Greico & Clark "Black Box" gas roadster, this looks like Santa Ana.

Probably built first as a track roadster, as sprint cars replaced track roadsters, they began to show up at the drag strips...Norm Grudem

Waters & Murray, version #1, possibly at Minter Field. Waters & Murray sold this car to Eddie Bosio from Northern California when they built their blue 555 Chevy-powered roadster that has been restored.
