Metal stitchery at its best. Thanks for having me along, Duncan...My '27 tub is less 'nervous' now...

  18. Back from Portland swap meet, time to get back at it.

  19. Suicide doors that fly open and hyper-extend are a real pain. I have 3 days into repairing the rt door rear edge, hinges and getting the door back to length and aligned. Photos of the procedure.

I had the same problem on my three window, the bent hinges that were a problem were on the door. I ended up drilling out the rivets and using the 20 ton to get them straightened out.

  25. You can do it. I used 18 gauge, but I think 20 g would be strong enough. Make a quicky wooden buck like in the photos and go from there, roll the piece to basic contour with a slip roll or over a gas bottle with 20g. go around the perimeter, defining the flange area with your smallest bead set, on a cheapo bead roller to start tipping it up and use your shinker/stretcher to work it the rest of the way. You'll need some heat for the tight corners. I'm not saying its easy, but with a little thought, as to which way you want to move the metal, it can be done. I got lucky and did it in one try, but if it screws up, start over. D
