After a long week I finally got the car sprayed last weekend. I painted the frontend and deck lid separate from the car just to make it a little easier on myself. A couple friends that are body men recommended to spray the jambs with the rest of the car and man i'm glad i took their advice because back taping jambs sux! Gunna call it Mister twister back in black..

Awesome job. Much talent for sure. Motor sounds great. How can you resist some very shiny Halibrands? Gary

Thanx guys! Definitely Looking forward to finish up the sanding/buffing and start putting the car back together.

Also I want to get my grill rechromed but need to find some horseshoes. mine have seen better days! Might try to fix them but would rather just find a decent pair [IMG]

Thanx man.. yeah I agree A shiny wheel would be a good contrast against the black. I think I’m gunna run the steels in the back and put some ET mags or Halibrand in the front. I like the look of the mismatched combo

It's going to be worth the wait to see (for me) when it's finally unveiled. Continued good
    luck with the build.

Oh Man, black! Didn't see that coming. It looks great! Is there some gold leaf lettering in the future?
I vote for polished Halibrands up front. Of course polished Halibrands in back and small American 5 spokes up front would be a nice "mismatched combo" too.
Wish I could get my cars through the body and paint phase as quickly and nicely as you have. Good job....

Great build! I'm about an hour north of Detroit and I'm building a 51 Styleline Coupe. What hood scoop did you use and where did you get it? BTW I'm the guy you contacted with your seats.

Thanx guys appreciate the support! Yeah been trying to stay at it, would like to get the car to the track this summer but we’ll see!
I have a friend of mine lined up to do the lettering and was just gunna let him do his thing.
I’ve got a thing for five spokes so that’s what’ll be on the front n probably for now I’ll leave the steels on the back until I find some hallis or 5 spokes..

The scoop I got from eBay. It’s titled for 55 6 & 7 Thunderbird. A guy in mass makes them to order. It had a flange on the bottom but I cut it off to get the angle to look better. I ended jb welding it to the hood and fiberglassing it in as well. If you type in thunderbird hood scoop on eBay it should pop up.

Great build. Love the stance. Can't believe the pace of the build either. Really like your front suspension install and rear wheel opening solution. Would loved to have seen more detailed build pics throughout but understand it can become a project itself to do so.

Got the paint rubbed this weekend and pretty happy with it. I still need to go over it with a finishing pad and some glaze but not till it’s all together for good.
I pulled the trigger on some 5 spokes and my buddy mounted them up for me the other day. Wanted to see them on the car before I pulled the axle today to get chromed. I like em!
Next move is to clean and paint the firewall and frame rails.

Thanks a lot guys! Been busy traveling for work and haven't had the chance to post any updates in a while.

Anyways, In the past month or so i got the under the hood stuff all painted. I used bed liner under the hood, firewall, trunk and some ppg industrial enamel with hardener on the rails. Also painted the dash and cage in Black.

Got the motor and trans back in it and currently running brake lines now. Next on the list is fuel lines and wiring.
