    Not sure about the original post. I think this was common back in the 50's as I remember several like that using the standard bezel over a deluxe gauge set. My 40 back in 1958 had a light metallic orange/persimmon dash. The dash and bezel were painted the same and the standard bezel covered deluxe gauges. I really liked it and will probably duplicate it when my 40 coupe gains my full attention. I never liked the standard dash colors and gauges as well as this set up. Car was 58 Lincoln Matador Red. It was a nice contrast at the time.
