    They are wrapped to keep the lube in and dirt out. Nice old Ford, thanks for all the pics.

    thanks , I like the wide body stance and narrow front . I think 41's are not recognized as much as 40's and 46's

    That is cool , I don't know why 4 doors aren't more popular I don't like to get out of the car to let others in .

    yeah those look like the panels but did anyone offer the dash and steering column in chrome also wondow surrounds ? I plan on having the evans heads and offenhauser 4 barrel intake back on after having them checked out .

    Will do I have been taking it slow found out the crank Marked 1CM is a mercury 4" stroke going to start pulling pistons tomorrow.

    update I tried CLR in # 1 cylinder it appeared as rust but when I went to scrub it it was almost plastic like substance the CLR and a plastic tuffie scrub pad got it loose and it looks like after soaking for an overnite i may actually get # 1 to move more than a little . will keep you posted .

    Pistons stuck? Try Marvel Mystery Oil. Miracle stuff!
    (Automatic transmission fluid can also be added.)

    only one stuck #1 and tried marvel a few times on it not giving much also tried transmission fluid pb blaster wd 40 gel hot water, coke kinda helped this almost looks like plastic more than rust got almost all of it above piston now am soaking it again will try to move it again from the bottom thanks for the suggestion.

    ATF and Acetone is great for stuck carbs. You might give that a try.
