I’ve got a wilcap adapter behind my 390 now but I ran across the QuickTime and they look a lot less bulky and of course extra safe compared to an aluminum bellhousing. The motor is in my 32 vicky and any extra floor room is nice!!!

Does anyone here have any real world experience with this combination?

    Thanks,

    FLiP

I can’t remember the part number, but like you said, they only list the one for 365-390 cads 55-62

    Deadfast33,
If you were feeling adventurous, the mount plate is healthy 3/8 HRS, and could be altered with some ears to give you room to add hole pattern you need

You'd be a lot more confident that it is SFI rated, that new T5 should easily handle the torque of your Caddy mill. Very nice. You wouldn't have an issue in selling that Wilcap kit to offset and recoup your outlays.

I reached out to the makers of the bellhousing and I’m seeing about them making a run of housings with the Muncie/t5 bolt pattern. Who know? It might happen??

  16. Hey DeadFast, the RM 8025 is for 390 Caddys...did you end up getting one? Just like everything else Cadillac, atleast twice the price of everything else they sell.

    Deluxe32,

I found a 132 toothed steel billet flywheel that will work with this setup

QuickTimes are way better than the Lakewood styles. That 1/2" thick plate allows for additional trans mounts. I would have no problem making additional "ears" and welding them to the plate. The measurement of the trans snout for the clutch must be right along with the hole diameter. Alignment rings are not that hard to make either and could be available from QT.
They actually make some that do not have the SFI ratings and would be fine for any of our street cars.

Just wanted to throw a lil blurb
out about the sketch I put up awhile back... it was just a quick scaled drawing, to see if a guy’s T-5 would fit this model and hole pattern... I did not take great care to get precise dimensions, so I’d recommend getting a machinist or other to grab a little better numbers before doing any machining.... sorry for any confusion

What flywheel and clutch set up did you use? I have a 390 and the quick time bellhousing on a 32 5 window project and now its time to figure out all that out.
Wilcap said there flywheel is 1.2" thick from crank to friction service. Is that the same flywheel you used?

I bought the Wilcap flywheel. It’s small, 10” clutch, 132 teeth I believe, but works with late model Chrysler truck starter

  29. The only thing I've heard is the Quicktime bells can be a bit sketchy about crankshaft/trans input alignment, so do check the runout. You can get offset dowel pins for correction.

Thank you for the information. I think i will get the flywheel from Wilcap today.
Im working on getting everything mocked up now, trying to decide on either a mechanical clutch linkage or an external slave cylinder. I have never had much luck with a hydraulic throwout bearing.
I like the quick time bellhousing mainly because of the size and a pretty straight forward set up. I will check the runout.
