    Hey Rat thats a a rare Model A with a Model A Shell...don't see that to often...:D

Mind you it is a 31 shell on a 29...

Just kidding...hey that has some wild stuff going on in the front axle dept. Dig the straps around it. It actually looks upside down...heck the whole frame might be upside down...motive power seems to be set back flathead. Hood side panels almost look permanently attached to the rad shell.

Are you aware what was done to this roadster suspension wise Rat?

It is always interesting to see the old hotrods so low back in the day.

Thanks @hrm2k but the model thread has a real solid footing around here...I'm not really a model type but have the utmost respect for those in the hobby and I just poked my nose into the thread and man...there are many incredible models some with the ride they modeled it after...

Thank you you however for suggesting that...

That said I still would like to see @50Fraud's model of that cool lakes T.

    The Model Thread...

  10. Interesting! Was looking at the axle, that model A banana axle was bend at the ends for set a proper camber... I'm sure they had a negative camber, they want to go in a rect line... I note the 30-31 model A shell! The front spring flat too....
Looks a very hard work to build that front end because a little modification involves all the other parts in the front end!

  12. They probably bent that to correct the king pin inclination after the axle was flipped.

Sorry, I haven't seen it for 50+ years. All of my model stuff was stolen from my garage in 1968.

Of course and I also believe your ride has graced this thread at least once maybe more. It has been a year or so since its completion. How has it been performing for you?

I look at this thread as a virtual show which encompasses all Hamb friendly Hotrods, Customs and all in between each uniquely interesting and different.

This does not happen at the local cruise

    Thanks @50Fraud

That is really not good and too bad...:(
They took a piece of your heart and soul.

It's nice, if not blindingly fast. For a while it was so low that it scraped on everything, but re-springing the front end solved that without any visual change.
No doubt it's been in this thread before. I just wanted to join the bunch of channeled '40s that you posted.

Hey 50 add your build thread to the post with your Hotrod/Custom (I have trouble defining but I was thinking when the skirts are off the sportiness arrives) so others who have not seen the journey can check it out easier as stuff has a way of moving back into the quality archives...I will use for a term as there is a lot of great threads available for good reading and gleaning...

Glad your having fun with it. You have a special bond with it and I understand...By the way you helped get the thread rolling at post #26 and thanks again for adding you input to this threads ongoing winding road...

That thing is very smoothed over what is its base 29 Ford, frame is 32?

Well Six Ball I couldn't help but be reminded of a childhood treat when looking at the color of this
former Jalopy Racer and it would have been a fitting gum to have along for the ride...

Hows that for a slogan...and its still around...soap gum...didn't Ma or Pa say that was what was going to happen when
when we spoke in profane words when we were little...:D

Not a jalopy racer but a real piece of Hot Rod History. It It was built in SoCal and ran at the first Bonneville races in'49 here it turned 119.68 mph. Then is went to a car show in Indianapolis and won Best Constructed Car. Marvin Webb was one of THE GUYS. DSCN0021.jpg DSCN0028.jpg DSCN0040.jpg DSCN0026.jpg DSCN0020.jpg

I stand corrected...I saw that bar setup ahead of the rear wheels and assumed Jalopy Racer...but not just
on those apparently. Is that a modded Dodge Grill? It is a beauty of a roadster...way ahead of its time in looks.

Gary this reminds me of Tweety Bird as they share quite a few similarities.
To be that time capsuled is amazing in itself. Wow is right...

  28. I just finished the #Goldchainer.
It's a Deuce coupe with a small blockChevy. I know, sounds boring.
Seen one, seen 'em all, right?
