I looked through the forum and haven't found an answer. As far as wheel cylinders go, has anyone done them? We got new cylinders from Oreillys and they are smaller .assuming they gave us ones for a regular falcon. Finding different measurements for wagons.. trying to figure the right direction to go.. Bore.. Thread size? It's a 1963 Falcon wagon v8. 10 inch front drum brakes. 9 inch rears.
There are 15/16 and 13/16 wheel cylinders for 63 falcons. Wagner numbers for 15/16 cylinders are wc59240 and wc59241.
Thinking maybe 63 Fairlane front cylinders may work based on measurements? We tried looking up 63 rancheros front wheel cylinders and it doesn't even list them or give an option. We have drum brakes .
Could it be that V8's have the 5 lug and 6cyl have 4 lug, you just have a V8 wagon. A buddy of mine has a '61 6cyl wagon and it has the 4 lug wheels. By the way, how rare is a V8 wagon?
It's originally 260 v8. 5 lug. They only made 2400 two door wagons Mine is a v8 2 door. Which I'm assuming they only did about half that. The wagons with the v8 were technically 63 1/2 year.
From a parts book the 15/16 wheel cylinders are rights and lefts and the 13/16 ones fit ether side Look at your old ones and see if they are alike or different from side to side.
My Bendix info states the '63 V8 Falcon wagon should have 10" drums front and rear. Can't find any Falcons (or other fords) with 10" fronts and 9" rears. Correct rear wheel cylinders for your wagon are 29/32". 1 1/8" are the front cylinders, not rear.
Update. Found them at Oreillys. The rears part number is WC59240 WC59241 Fronts were WC40951 WC40952 Same fit as a 63 fairlane 500.
My book states 1 3/32" front, 29/32" rear for all '63-'64 Fairlane passenger, and 1 3/32" front, 15/16" rear for all S/W.
Glad you found them, I was going to give you a sound plan "B"... Sent from my XT1585 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
