I am looking for a special kind of undercoating for the wheel wells of my 40 Ford. Something more than the standard undercoating. Is there a product out there that can be applied to the underside of the fenders that can help prevent stone damage of the fenders?I do not want to have dings in the paint caused from damage from underneath the car. I plan on using this car to drive long distances. Thanks for any help that you can give.
I've used 3M Body Schutz on several cars but this time we used Raptor. Body shop thought it was a better product?
Raptor is made by UPOL, they also offer gravitex, same goop less texture. I really like both products. tcpglobal.com sells it in kits or single bottles if you dont need a lot.
We use the deck liner product also on all our builds. You can also use it on the underside of the floor and paint it for a sound deadener.
Some one makes a replacement for the rear fender brace that also acts as a stone guard. I can't recall who that is.
Ryno liner or any type of truck bed liner works, but if your wheel wells are not really clean and you get an air pocket it will trap moisture. Actually factory type undercoating works too, but it is just tar. Stars in the paint on fenders used to be considered a good thing, it is a sign that the car is driven. I know that someone may not want them but they are a good sign in the right company.
