Projects The Goldchainer Gasser - Five Month Deuce 5 Window * *Updated with race video**

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by daddy_o's_diner, Jan 29, 2018.

  1. Those that follow me on Instagram know I picked up another '32 five window a little less than 4 months ago. (search #fivemonth5window)

    In a deuce-induced haze, I decided I would have the car done for Autorama this year. You know, just a quick and dirty build... Hahaha

    @Flop jumped on the sheet metal work for me.

    @Lucky8ba handled the body work.

    While I got busy on the chassis.

    I sprayed the car...

    This is just the sealer going down...

    I have dropped the body off of at Mikey's Kustom Upholstery. He is working his magic on an interior while I started final assembly this past weekend.

    So, with a month to go, I'm currently on pace to have the car done for the show, but have TONS of work left to do.

    Stay tuned...

    Ah, the "who owns the coupe" question that Flop was lets say vague on comes to life. This should get interesting and I am in.

  7. Yes sir, fenders are staying on this one.

    Shocked to see flops work needs filler.............................:)

  11. Tom (Flop) didn't metal finish this car like he normally does. That's not what I was after with this build.
    He only had the car 2 weeks and put 2 new quarters, a new back filler panel and a complete floor in the car. He also patched the bottom of both doors.
    The dude is a rock star and I'm glad to call him a friend.

    Well I for one can't knock a guy for having a little pookie smothing out the final boy work. That and even with a buddy deal I can imagine the cost of Flop hours for the final get it to no filler used condition would run the tab up a serous amount. Not that I don't like seeing all metal worked to the max bodies but it is a tad unrealistic to expect to see every one done that way no matter who does the major portion of the body work.

  14. Well it's done. 4 months and 16 days from the day I tore it down to driving it into Cobo Hall for the Detroit Autorama. Lots of friends to thank, like Flop for the sheet metal work, lucky8ba for the body work and roll bar, and Mikey Brown for the interior.
