So since I've sold my 54 210 I haven't been around. I think I have the itch again and found a 51 1/2 short bed. It's a started "shop truck" project. The guy did some nice work cleaning up the frame and drive train which is the stock six. He also has all the metal work in the cab done like floors, cab corners and cowl work. Nicely done but looks untouched from the out side. The truck has a little rust on the fenders but very minor. Overall very clean. He is asking 6500 I think I'm going to try and work a deal today. Feel like might be a little high but all the major work is done. So my goal is a fun, cheap, period correct driver. I just want to put a little bit of cool into it so any ideas or tips would be appreciated. I think just lower it a little, split exhaust manifold, and dual carbs. Saw a few pictures on here for inspiration. I'll check back later and let you know how my negotiations go.
Looks like an awesome project with a lot of things done to her already, would love to find one just like her!
You can drive it while doing your upgrades is bonus. I just shipped a Fulton visor last week to fellow assembling similar truck
