Using a 38 Front axle with wide 5 drums. Have a 56 F100 front axle with brakes. If I use the 56 brakes will the 38/39 drums fit? Want to stay wide 5 if I can.

I guess I will have to use the 56 drums and a set of adapters from Speed way.

1939 had the combination of wide fives with hydraulic brakes so 39 brakes would be a bolt on. Also the 40 style brakes could be adapted easily if I'm not mistaken.

You can buy converted self energizing brake backers that will work with your wide five drums. Isnt it neilinca ? I dont normally suggest "buy it" options but for front brakes cost is a secondary issue.
