3... 69 Mustang Fastback 557ci 6 speed 51 Merc 2 door (soon to be forsale!!) 30 Model A Tudor Always looking for MORE!!!
I have lots of projects....and currently only one "hobby car" that is driveable. Even that one, I have long term plans for. The driver is a 64 Oldsmobile F-85 2 door I also have a few race cars that consume a bunch of my time. One is a 65 Oldsmobile F-85 street stock, one is a 78 Malibu street stock and one is a 37 Chevy coupe vintage modified. Other projects include: 33 Chevy 3 window vintage stock car 70 Camaro RS restoration 87 Chevy Silverado 64 Oldsmobile F-85 4 door If I were smart, I'd get rid of most of them and concentrate on just a couple...but the problem is that I value them too much. I have a lot of time into each of them and I know what has been done and they are worth the most to me. If I tried to sell them it is likely that I would get offers so low that I'd be insulted. So...I keep them all!
Here's what I have: '49 Ford I'm building for my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary '50 Ford chopped 3 1/2" and sectioned 4" '49 Ford (stock) '49 Ford w/ a '51 front end '27 Model T roadster w/ '54 331 hemi '36 Ford truck w/ fenders (in parts) I'm currently working on the Anniversary car, the sectioned '50 and the hemi T.
Thanks guys--I feel a helluva lot better about myself! In my next life, I'm going to do two things differently: I'm going to be raised by wolves, and I'm only going to have one project car at a time. Right now I have: '56 Chevy basket case. Sentimental value, it'll never go. '57 Chevy 2dr 150 Station Wagon gasser project. Not as far from the street as it looks. '54 Buick Special. Was my daily driver until the trans ate itself. I just picked up a trans today for it from a fellow hamber, so who knows?! Maybe by spring! Daily Driver: '62 Chevy Suburban. Tried to get it ready for a road trip to Bonneville, but that'd didn't work. I now have to find a coolant leak (probably the intake manifold). The week before B'ville, it got a new crate engine, new 4spd. OD manual trans, new driveshaft, power drum brake conversion kit (with the funky hydrualic clutch), fresh paint on the firewall and POR15 on the front frame rails. Got back from B'ville last Sunday night, got caught up at work this week, just went to a drag race (for work) on Friday and am home now, Sunday at 11pm, thinking about that truck and this week! -Brad
This is where my wife said I'm to finish one first before getting another: '34 Chevy 4-dr sedan (started building the chassis) '52 Chevy DeLuxe 4-dr (to be restored stock with '56 motor) '53 Chevy 210 4-dr (nearly done) '54 Chevy Bel-Air 4-dr (to be built as full custom)
49coupe, One project car to work is the only way to go, but few car guys can stick to just one car. I'm almost finish with my '49 Caddy and '71 Corvette. Caddy's at the paint shop, the Corvette is painted needs interior and some chroming. After these two are finished, maybe a '54 Chevy just to have something to work on. Don't sell the '50 every year prices just go up. Work on the '49 as you can and someday soon it'll be done. Be patient..................... Cruiser

Some of you young guys- be careful. I found through the years I was like a magnet for not just old cars but anything old! Fiends used to kid me how I just "find" stuff". and 1 was never enough. I got into old scooters for 10 + years- ended up with over 100 at one time. Cushman wizzer simplex doodle bug Harley's and toppers, gas pumps signs ect. ect. I have tried to scale down-around 40 scooters and dozen or so old cars. Most run but not show quality. Seems I could never stay on one car to get it completely done before another one came along. Got 4 bld. now to hold the stuff, but when I'm down I can go out in one of them - and get in a better mood. So some of you young ones watch out-you may be " one of them-one is not enough-". Don't fight it, just enjoy it It's been a lot of fun and my stuff don't owe me a dime. When I'm gone I hope they have a hell-of an auction!
Not near as many as I use too,but I still have too many. I am amazed at some of the members that keep buying projects but don't have a hot rod or custom that runs,I like the building process but I also love driving them. HRP
First, this thread was brought back from the dead today (2007). Second, HRP has it right. I used to have WAY too many. Now I'm down to just too many. I'll never find the time to complete the ones I have now. But, I have a hard time with selling them, because I have some cool ideas for them!
Enough to keep me busy the rest of my life. My 32 coupe is done. The Willy's pick-up was all together but I took it back apart to paint everything. Just finished chopping my sedan 2 1\2" and installing a cowl steering set-up. I hope to get started on the cabriolet next winter.
Too many for me. 1957 Chevy heirloom car 1956 corvette 1962 Flathead FED 1975 Harley Sportster My Ole Lady.
I'm in the stupid club too.....8 right now (soon to be 7 hopefully), 5 running.......and I live in a regular ass area (no big work shop or barn). Some are stashed at my moms.....between gas, insurance, parts and registration I need to donate blood or organs for more funds .
Three projects and not likely enough time to finish them all, only 1 car, 58 Chevy Biscayne, 1 motorcycle, 58 AJS Model 30, 1 tractor, 61 Farmall 560 and an acreage that uses up time that I would like to spend working on the first 3 projects but it always has something that needs done.
Just for the helluvit I looked up the original poster, a mister 49 ford. Post was made in 2007 but subsequent posts show he sold off the 50 convertible to concentrate on his 49 coupe. His last post was June of last year.
Im ashamed to say that I have too many. Im only 43 yrs old and not even sure if I will ever get them all finished. Im out of room so I don't THINK I will buy anymore. It starts over every week. I have to get this racing bug out of my system! I have even thought on getting rid of some to finish other but cant make myself do it. Guess that just makes me a hoarder!
