    Hell of story, but I don't understand the connection with the 82cnd Airborne.

    During World War I the 82nd All American Division was not airborne. That was not until WWII. The 82nd All American Division and the 82nd Airborne are the same unit...different time frame. To this day the 82nd wears the AA patch for the All American Division.

  12. I saw that car through the holes in the barn years ago! SGT York's son is/was the park ranger in charge of the homestead(state park), he gave us a more personal tour since no one else was there. Mr York was an awesome man, they made a great movie about his exploits, and it's a neat place to visit. His daughter inlaw pointed out back to the mountain and showed us the cave where he "meditated" about going to war (watch the movie).
