He was quite the driver...drove many fuel altereds skillfully. My FB friend Mike Hayward remembers Gary driving his father's "Monkey Motion."

Dean, did you know Dick Guyette or happen to know anyone connected to him? Even if it's a long shot. I've got almost everything to build this early dragster, including wooden bucks I've made from scaled up pictures. Only thing I'm missing is that damn Potvin setup. Thanks Randy

  4. No, sorry, I never knew Dick. I was 14 when I saw the Clown at Pomona, and that was the only time seeing it in person.

  16. The shot of Charlie Allen and the Dutchman in the shutdown area might be the best picture I've seen in a while. I would have payed anything to be around the starting line for that one.

With surfing the web being the norm... I guess that's what it's called .....just sitting and flipping through old magazines is probably not cool ....well I like it ...and I have a lot of old magazines.... here's some shots from my latest flip's...some of the ones in this first group are British drags....[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I thought this looked like the Dover dragstrip snack bar (spent a lot of time there) so I looked it up and yes it is and the pit side stands. Another Branded photo.

Ouch. Look at where the driver ended up. Scary stuff and a good reason for safety rules.
