  8. Hey! That's "The Chopper Truck"! How long ago was this picture taken, Mick?

Glad to see it's still around.

I've wanted to build one of these Dodge trucks for years. Maybe one of these days.
I wish somebody would spend the dough and chrome those headlight bezels and the front bumper on this truck. I think it would improve the looks of it a bunch. They have been painted for years. E

Is this some other existing bezel which a '51 Mercury lens has been cut down to fit, or is it a Mercury bezel that has been heavily reworked to make it so smooth and thin? I'd really love to know. I've always liked the Merc lens but the bezel is kinda chunky, this builder did an amazing job with these lights (and transplanted them into a Chevy, no less). Would love to hear more.

  12. Now I am curious as well....
I don't think it's a reworked stock bezel. There isn't that much room between the bottom of the taillight lens and the round reflector. If they are built from stock, it would be a LOT of work.

  13. FOUND IT. The bezels are handmade.
    Owned by @bmc
"Car was built by Lucky 7 Customs in Antioch Ca. Marcos Garcia, Vince Byrne, Logan Stipe & Junior Gutierrez are the 4 guys responsible & interior by Bob Devine in Pittsburg Ca. Top was chopped 3 1/2 in the front & 3" in the back. Handmade grill opening with 1954 Desoto grill minus 2 teeth with handmade center bar to match contour of opening. Frenched stock headlights with extended hood to meet grill opening. 1951 Mercury tail light lenses with handmade bezels. Moulded front & rear pan. Shortened & frenched rear bumper. Engine is a hopped up Chevy straight six 250 built by Loyd Engineering in Oakley,Ca. Transmission is a 700r4. Front suspension consists of Fatman dropped uprights & custom shortened springs. Rear is c-notched with dearched leaf springs & 4' blocks along with adjustable air shocks. A lot of other modifications have been done to make it look like nothings been done to keep it as clean looking as possible. The crew at Lucky 7 have been building clean ass Customs for over 20 years & Marcos Garcia's paint jobs are legendary. It was a pleasure to work with them."

Great info on the tail lights Sancho, and damn fine work by Lucky 7's, really makes for a natural fit.

Any pic`s of the Cadillac El Camino that Keith Dean built when John Saltzman owned it. I believe it was in rough stages at Paso in Custom Rodder.
