Technical identify mystery manifold

  2. The Ford flathead six has a similar port layout.....
    Any numbers or markings on it?

    Cast in the bottom is "H709". Since the manifold mounts straight across without any provision for an exhaust manifold going between the intake ports, I assume it's for a crossflow head. Decades ago I had a Knudeson manifold for a flathead Ford six and I don't remember it mounting like this.
     
  4. No, It's not for a Ford flat six, I was just thinking aloud of which sixes had that layout.
    Interesting piece...

    The port spacing looks AMC 'ish, but he bolt holes are not correct.
     
  7. Do i see the shadow of two bolt holes in the head that have been covered by the aftermarket manifold ?

  10. Just saw this piece on eBay, and now I'm curious, but I have no idea... I wonder if someone at the Museum of American Speed could ID it? They have a bunch of old oddball engines from way back.

    What engines have intake on one side and exhaust on the other? Crossflow head.
     
  12. Ford 240/300 have cross flow port arrangement but that doesn't look like one to me

    Ford 240/300 isn't a crossflow head. The intake and exhaust are on the same side.

  14. Big chunk busted off of the right side bolt hole.
