looks like a VW bug system is the old way of doing wihtout buyiing the kit, but finding a bug for parts is also sometimes hard to do.

I think you might find a better price on a kit than the ones from Brothers by shopping around. I've got a Specialty power windows unit for mine that I bought years ago when they first came out and still haven't got it all installed. It uses the cables through tubing like some foreign cars. There weren't any other kits when I bought it in the mid 90's .
Here: Classic parts has several options at much better prices https://www.classicparts.com/Wiper-Motors/products/857/

The classic old shape Mini, MG, and other British Leyland cars have cable and wheel box wiper systems that can be adapted, mine has a modified mini setup. In the UK many kit car specialists, such as "Car Builder Solutions" stock similar items but are probably more expensive than US sources when all costs are considered.

Go to the AD social forum. the first item is a sticky by Cubby, there is a couple of articles on installing
wipers either as a diy or kit install. Be prepared to spend several hours going thru all the info there, Cubby has done us a big favor by putting together a lot of knowhow by many different people.

My truck already had a 12v kit on it but the motor burnt up. I went on ebay and bought a 12v wiper motor that looked the same and works great. I think the kits on evay are 150-200

I needed to do wipers on my '59 Dodge truck- nobody makes a kit for this orphan. I had the linkage but no motor.

After much reading online I bought motor that was used on some GM and VW vehicles, but being cheap, I bought it from a place that sells them to prop makers. Its $25 bucks this way for a 2-speed motor with park. Brand new.

They also offer a couple of different actuator arms for .69 each so get those too. You might need one to replicate your original setup. The 2sp w/park switch I got was from Ron Francis via Summit and cost more than the motor.

You'll have to work out how to mount it in your truck, but the new motor is pretty compact compared to stock, so probably not a problem. I had to graft 2 actuator arms together to get the right position & travel, but I still had it in & done in a half day.
