It's beautiful, but it would be KILLER if you chopped it. A good chop would give it that sleekness that looks so good. A nice reverse curve at the catwalk & It'll look like a million bucks!! (Just my 2 cents)
Cgc1958 a chop is something that is constantly in my mind and I have been studying the masters back in the day as to what flow and how much I want to take off the top. I agree a chop gives a flow and sleekness that makes the car move forward while standing still, and that's the way it was done by people like barris, Ayala and westergard. I have been mulling it over and will continue the research Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Don't chop, it's way too nice to cut up! Always loved stock height fat fords Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Absolutely beautiful as it sits! Have you thought of molding the rear fenders? Here is one by Valley Customs. Your black beauty would be even nicer!
Mo.. great point and that's one of my all time favorite kustoms. So low slung with subtle mods that make is so effective. Yes I will mold in the rear fenders and shave the trunk. I want a bumper over rider to house the plate, but trying to figure out which one . I know a lot say not to chop and many say chop it"that's what a kustom is".. hardest decision out there I think
Excellent! Do you have something in mind for the license guard? '49 Chevy front guards are currently available, as one credible option.
Yes the 49 front guard are a very solid option. That would work well with the 41 super deluxe bumper I have Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Very nice. I have a whole pile of 41 Super Deluxe bumper gaurds if you wanted to run the correct ones
Here are some more pics . Adding the Fenton headers recently cerakoted next week. Looking at shaving the trunk and relocating the license plate to the center of the 41 super deluxe bumper I am getting chromed.
Thanks so much . So far I have held off on the chop and probably will for the future Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
So I had these dash knobs made by Jason who runs numnob.. they are ivory with a tan cream swirl. I kept the design Art Deco and the sharp as close to the original as possible. I had the radio dials also done in a ivory color. The small middle dial is being done as we speak in ivory as well. I think they came out amazing and suit the interior. Next is the carpet
No Jeff I sold the 50. I wanted something earlier and in that taildragger style. I had gone as far as I could with the 50 besides chopping it
I love chopped tops and all the rest, but I have to agree...this car is perfect! (The only possible improvement I can imagine would be a BIG inch flathead and O.D.)
Congrats on the engagement! That's the way to do it, sell a car, buy a ring and another project! Doesn't look like the '41 is much of a project though... Keep it mild! If it does get chopped my vote is for the purple car's chop, or like Mr. Musico's '41... That car had a perfect chop IMO. Good luck! It looks great!
Stole this pic from Rik Hovington's Custom Car Chronicle. Here's your dash in the 1951 Eastern Auto catalog... Gorgeous car BTW. I vote for a chop, but keep it mild. Also, wondering what they did to get the butt down that low?
This thing gave me chills after scoping it at the GNRS....awesome car and an even better bloke. Th fact that its still in original paint is the cream on the cake. Super sano 41 in the right hands too !!
So happy you like it and thanks for the kind words! This 41 is such a time machine . I really scored with this ride Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
This could be the best reason I have heard for a chop!! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Added the correct bumper guards for the 41 deluxe coupe bumper. Also got a set of the NOS sealtight spark plug insulators for the Flathead. perfect for the Flathead
