It's the February 2001 issue. I had it out on display for years. Now I seem to have put it away in a box with the others. I will scan the article if I can find the magazine.

 

..................Just for grins, I did change things up about 6 months or so ago.....I was a little tired of the Red wheels as well.

 

An all-black and chrome 40 standard is classic, or as fellow HAMBer once put it: It is the Standard!

 

lothiandon1940, I'm assuming that light fastened to your left front bumper irons is really more amber in real view rather than photo where it appears red. I've wondered about it many times, as to how you keep the LEO off your back? If I put something like that on a car down here in GA, they would be after me like a duck after a June bug

 

..............................It is in fact a rich amber color, not red at all as it may appear in pictures. I found it at a swap meet a number of years ago and really liked the color and the fluted lens that kinda mimics the flow of the grill bars.

 

I'm kind of fond of red wheels and black body. Yeah, there's a lot of them out there. Oh well. Have I posted this one before?

 

I kind of like this shot too. This was from a couple of years ago. We've revived a Wichita tradition of "cruising Douglas". The main drag thru town. It got banned back in the 90's but nobody cares now. This picture was taken in front of Dennis McPhails "Artist's at Large" tattoo business. He provided root beer floats for all comers. Adam Brownfield's 50 Chevy coupe behind my car.

 

I really like the orange wheels on this 40.

 

First off.. there is nothing wrong with a Black 40 with red wheels, I'll look at em all day.. I wanted to show a few pics of my other 40 ,its a bit of a project, but I'm making gains
