Taken at the HAMB Drags many years ago racing one of my brothers trucks. I have driven it to the dragstrip and made passes with it every year for the last 19 years. I have owned this truck for 30 years. My brother and I have owned and driven several AD trucks. The first was an AD panel when I was 16. A friend of mine owns that panel now and wants to give it to me.

Here's my 1950 truck, I bought it in the US in 2005 and shipped it back to the UK.

Took it off the road in 2006 because it needed "8 weeks work" -16 months later it was actually back on the road again.

Quick question, why are they designated as an “AD” ? Seen it thrown around quite a bit. Thanks

They were advertised as the "Advance Design" series of trucks

My '54 3100 was built by Eddie Tovar, was inspired quite a bit by the advertisement shown above. :) 54_1.JPG IMG_0202.JPG IMG_7052.JPG

<<<<<<< Since mine is in the under construction stage again for the I lost count time I am throwing out a couple of scissors and tape concept ideas since I can't get the hang of photoshop.
I took the liberty of using 51Farmtruck's truck and Cole Porters Truck as the base for these concept prints. Truck will run white walls and hubcaps when it hits the road though. I've got almost all of the pieces I just have to put the puzzle together.. Stretch section Farm truck.jpg Cut and tape on Cole Porter truck.jpg

Looks like you're cornering the market on AD trucks down in Illinois Rusty1. Nice collection of trucks. Are the 3 shown in the last picture on original frames?
