Saw this one back in 2001, the uptop looked heavy to me but it was a nice conversion... Dsc05198 by Dave Lindsay, on Flickr Dsc05199 by Dave Lindsay, on Flickr Dsc05200 by Dave Lindsay, on Flickr Dsc05202 by Dave Lindsay, on Flickr
I've yet to see a modified one that looks better than stock. There are plenty of cars that could do with help...this isn't one of them. (Sadly, a lot of people's help reminds me of the joke "I'm from the government, I'm here to help.")
For Me, I would have to have the skirts, changes the look completely, shaved handles are icing on the cake.
Don't do it. These cars have sooo many parts it will leave you with brain damage and an empty wallet. I bought mine from a WWll vet who had it on blocks in his garage. Drove it home and started a mod project. This was 12 years ago. $10K for leather interior, $5K for chrome, $10K for paint, and $3K for motor rebuild. Engine turned stainless, CAD instrument faces and rebuilding of crucial parts like window motors and steering wheel, the list goes on.
True but you will end up with a classic that is considered one if the best automotive designs in history!
