I'll have to do some research on Star. I have a set of Durant rods to use in my '28 Chevy 171 four if I ever get to it. Starting to really get interested it the late teens and '20s inlines, especially 4s.

I just deleted a post answering your queries thinking I was wrong but yes it is a Star 4 cylinder...Those events are great for the Hobby and bring a wide range of pretty darn interesting vehicles. Interesting story on the Boat-tail.

All yes the Orr's just had everything going for them.

Funny you should ask- when I started building the car ( 14-15 yrs. ago), I wanted something different and remembered "suicide" front ends from long ago. That's what I went with ( after a lot of people told me "bad idea"). It made the wheelbase 12 " longer than stock, and I was told it would be a bitch to drive. It is tough in parking lots with a pretty large turning radius, but I just park appropriately for speedy exits.
By the time the car was done, the boys out in Cally had started a resurgence with this type of front end, and it got pretty popular again. ( 2007-8).
I still like it and it runs down the interstate at 65-70 like its on tracks.

Then and now ( I didn't chop it- I sold it and the new owner did, didn't like it, and I bought it back!) Camera 2-20-09 143.jpg DSCN3610.JPG

That is just a most wild machine...no stranger here either...just a beautiful production as well to compliment it's fire breathing presence...wild times were happening at so many cornerstones on this great planet.

That really is a just a monster... it's like... the physical manifestation of people pushing a relatively new technology to its primitive limits...
