I'm planning to do an early style Westergard inspired custom. With some other ideas spliced in.
I also came across that '54 you're finishing up on instagram, looks badass dude.

Pretty stoked, my convertible parts showed up today. I still need to extend the doors and quarters to match the stock 2 door dimensions [IMG]

Got to play with the zephyr over the weekend, had to pre heat and weld nuts to the hinge bolts to break them free and get them out so I can start extending the doors, quarters and get my convertible windshield section installed. Soon enough there will be no traces of the 4 door sedan. [IMG][IMG]

Spent some time tonight cutting out the original 4 door sedan windshield section so I can install the 38 Zephyr convertible windshield section. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I took a coach building class awhile back and it opened my eyes and mind to not create my own barrier and to just get to doing it, when you get stuck or mess up you learn the most. I truly believe if you want it bad enough you can make it happen.

Thank you buddy, I have passion, pride and a vision pushing me. Someday I'd like to build myself my own version of a delahaye out of aluminium

Got the 38 Zephyr convertible windshield section cut down and somewhat mocked up, need to trim back a few spots and get everything perfectly lined up so I can weld it all in. Pretty exciting for me to see this in place. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Pretty crazy how much lead is on this stock convertible pillar, I went to melt off the lead so I can weld it together and discovered the lead was actually holding it together in that section. Sheet metal was toast. Looks like I will be making some new pieces to fix this and glad I caught this now because after it's painted that would suck[IMG][IMG][IMG]

No I had cut that section out, I have another pillar from the sedan I can use parts of it to replace what's bad.

Never seen that much lead in a windshield post before unless some one tried to cover something up.

I've talked to a few friends that have convertible also that chopped them and they said there's where like that also. The pillar from bottom to top is all lead on both sides. Crazy, the story is that lincoln took some coupes off the line and made them convertibles. Not sure if that's 100% true but I could see that.

This is the other side before I cut it and exposed the stock weld where they added the convertible top section. Pretty crude how this was all done factory. [IMG]
