I have a Weiand aluminum head for my Model A engine. It measures about at least a 1/16 inch thicker than stock. Then if you add a washer under the nut it will then knock out about 1/8+ so I won't have a full nut on the stud. What can be done? I can't see where anyone sells longer studs; use bolts rather than studs, or can the head be counterbored at the stud bosses enough to get a full nut on the stud. thanks ---Greg

I run a Weiand head. Counterbored the head at the stud bosses and it worked great.

Bringing up an old thread. I just got a weiand banger head and am wondering the same thing. It’s thicker than stock by about 1/16”. Anyone counter bored the head or used longer studs and have feedback?
