I used the same 32 style dash as you but cut the Model A dash rail and welded it to the new dash. My ignition and light switch are mounted under the dash for a cleaner look.

  7. That's called embossed metal, it is a stamping. You can buy the metal that way if you look around a little bit. It was used on machinery quite a bit, like envelope folding machines, conveyors etc.
I have some in the garage now, stainless that came from an envelope stuffing and labeling machine.

Scroll this page, all kinds of ideas and a few places to buy.

Or here's a little piece unpolished on my Willys dash

Always like the dash's that have a balanced lay out n that cool stainless back ground. Although I do like 5plus gages an all,but that was not something in my piggy bank back in the late 50's as a teen {1959}. So I kept it simple, water temp, oil psi, then added a tach after some saving. Many more years down the road,I had to redo the steering wheel an box too. But still drive my rod. IMAG1365.jpg

Can someone please tell me why the picture of my dash was deleted? DSC02792.JPG

  26. @scrap metal 48 this glove box door get me to thinking. I want to make a radio delete plate for a current project and have a '54 Kansas tag, I am going to try it and see if I can make it work. ;)
