Damn I am glad to see the green. I looked behind Dub in that original pic and saw the Santa on the shelf. I wasn't sure where he was headed!...lol

    Hello...

Sorry for my absence. Work and the family has kept me very busy.

Byron announced that all cars running under 10 seconds will have to have an engine diaper... we think this is a great idea period. We have a company that wants to support this and we are trying to work out a deal to get Meltdown racers a discount...stay tuned.

Registration will shut down shortly and updates will be provided in March. Lots of entries...this isn't going to be fun.

    stay safe!

I don’t know if the diaper deal mentioned above is with this guy, but there is a guy here in Central Illinois that makes really nice diapers.

  23. dj safety makes several styles. i run one and it fits great. the cheapest sfi tagged diaper costs around 225.00 i feel the diaper is one of the best safety devices ever invented for a race car. diapers contain water and oil leaks large and small. the better ones have replaceable snap in pads that absorb the mess. the diaper not only keeps the track clean it also helps prevent crashing from getting in your fluids. another benefit is fire safety. if there should be a engine fire the hot oil is contained in the bag allowing a onboard fire system a chance to put out the fire. a fire system doesn't stand a chance if the whole bottom of the car is oiled. you all have a fire system right? the two are designed to work together.

I do carry an on board fire extinguisher if that counts.

  25. Its better than nothing. Its just hard to put out a engine fire while you are strapped into the car going 100 plus mph. Most on track incidents take place when the car is moving. While on the fire subject the cute spec 3 jackets everyone buys to feel like a race car driver provide zero protection from the heat. You are kidding yourself thinking its providing any safety to you. A spec 5 suit gives you five seconds. The best is spec 20 with nomex undereear. That gives you around 45 seconds.

Local track has a nostalgia race and every car has to have one. No matter how fast. I thinks its a great idea, oil clean up or multiple can really slow down an event especially with this many cars involved. No one wants be be going 100 mph with oil under their back tires anyway.

My dj safety is sfi and was under 200.
