Where did you find that fuel block? I think I need one of those for my setup. Mike

IMG_7667.JPG Just got my triple AOK intake this week. Mounting on a 1954 Windsor 265 engine.
It'll be going into my 1940 Desoto coupe

My project has been stalled for about a year or so, but hearing that blown flatty run has me wanting to wrench on mine again. I think I will spend a few hours in the garage tomorrow. Thanks MoparMontana!!
Heres a shot from when I first pulled it, and where I am at right now.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Love everyone's love for these lowly little motors but I'll tell you that I always get as much attention when I open the hood on my 52 Plymouth suburban as any high dollar show cars

    That is gorgeous!
My first car was a 51 Plymouth Cranbrook 2dr sedan. Bought it from dad when I was 8. Have always preferred the wagons of this body style though. Think it’s that I just don’t care for the sedans from the B pillar to the rear bumper.
    But the wagons are sharp!

    VERY NICE!

I guess you don't run out of juice quick with those dual Optima 6v's run in parallel, eh?

No problems with batterys also run a 6 volt posi ground alternator. My thought was if I ever decided to go 12 volt I'd just run the batterys in series

To the gurus: My question has to do with the exhaust and routing. I'm planning on a split header exhaust. I've been told by some that "know" that the exhaust pipe should be no bigger than 2" and the small mufflers should be as close as possible to the front to get the proper sound. Whattya think?

My other question has to do with where the pipes exit. I'm not a fan of two tubes coming out next to each other at the back. On the other hand routing the other pipe to the left side and back would look a lot better. With about 110 hp I'm not concerned about equal exhaust pipe length but should I be?

    Thanks!

I tryed to run true duals with my Fenton split manifold but the gas tank location created to much interference so I ran dual 2 inch pipes to the rear axle then y'd them and then ran 2 1/2 inch pipe over rear axle and exit in stock location with large stainless tip end. Had two glass pack mufflers staggered forward of the rear axle. Good sound and picked up some performance

Thanks for the information, John. I'm going to have a rear center mounted gas tank so that would not interfere. I appreciate your input.

Hi guys, if any Australian flathead fans are looking for an engine block please get in touch with me. I've got one going cheap as its sitting in my workshop (SE Melbourne suburbs , vic). Previous owner had it rebuilt but not used. Engine number KEW2PF3610

Cheers guys, keep up the top work. I've got a fargo but she won't be flathead powered when its eventually back on the road.

Sorry but it's long gone. Was a 251ci as far as I know.

  22. As far as I am aware no 265 ever came to Oz or were used here..........the best we got were the 250/251 in the Royals which were the "KEW" , which indicates that it is a 25" engine........the 23" engine was not that common in Oz use after WW2, most mopar sixes here seem to be variations of the 25" engine, 218/228 and the 250/251's..........although the 23" engine did get some use in the industrial applications as well as the standard trans car applications.........I had an ex Sydney Airport Tug 230 that I was building to use in a 41 Plymouth Coupe a few years ago but ended up selling the car and engine separately..........like a dope......lol..........andyd.

Thought I posted here in the past but I guess not.
Built my own dual carb intake and headers a couple of years ago. Modified a set of SBC headers and used 2 Webers. Really woke up an otherwise stock 23” 230.

My DeSoto is still in storage; waiting for his time on the lift. As soon as I have finished and sold the C10 Panel, my son and I will start the next part of the DeSoto journey.

On a constant search for parts for these engines. My 48 Windsor could use a wee more pep in its step. I do believe I’ve found a source for split headers but that’s about it
