    This is actually Chevy hood sides. I don't recall the year. I have seen a few built back in the '50s and '60s with this mod here locally.

    I had an A coupe back in the '70s that had the roof louvered. There were some weep holes drilled in the floor. I was living in Redding, Calif at the time and it seems like it was pretty rainy the entire time I was there. The only time that wet was a problem was when the car was sitting. When your moving the louvers draw air out not in.

    Thanks Stogy, I never got a chance to run the car. I was going to run it at the ECTA track in Maxton, NC but they lost their lease on the track before I had finished the car. I`m too lazy to take it to Maine, Ohio, or Texas, and now Memphis.( I live in NC) It was built as a period piece and doesen`t have the necessary safety equipment to run legaly, so except for a few shows and magazine articles it`s still sitting in my shop.     ..definitely not enough "late models" on this thread. here's the hood of my 49 Chevrolet, with my cool aftermarket bull nose hood ornament.

    There was a problem with this tri five...the hood...it is being replaced due to the louvers...oh well at least theres still a picture to enjoy.
